Sand Cherry Coffee Bakery and Cafe is the realization of a dream to open a coffee shop and bakery in a small town, close to home.  The name Sand Cherry comes from our family farm north of Ordway about 2 hours, near the town of Fort Morgan.  The Sand Cherry is a native plant that grows in our pasture and my mom makes it into delicious jelly.  The farm has been in our family for four generations, settled by Germans from the Volga River in Russia.  You will see the influence of our farm and our heritage in all that we make, from traditional family dishes like kraut birocks and rival kuga, and the use of farm fresh seasonal ingredients.  We will try and source much of our produce from our family farm and from local growers and suppliers as we think local and fresh always tastes better.  We strive for homemade scratch baking, and high quality coffee beans roasted right here in Colorado.  From our fresh ingredients, home baked breads and pastries, to our delicious jams and jellies, we hope to bring a little bit of our farm to your table.
